ZIPLEVEL

1. What is a ZipLevel?

ZipLevel® is a high-precision pressurized hydrostatic altimeter. It lets you truly work alone to quickly and easily level and read elevations directly in unmistakably clear digits. NO MORE rods, tripods, sensors, line-of-sight, error with distance, factory calibration, and tedious computations. Now you can measure over any distance or elevation on earth, from paper thickness to the height of a mountain, without error-inducing tabulation and math.

2. Do you need it?

We highly suggest it.  Traditional leveling methods (string levels, bubble levels, eyeballing it) just aren’t precise enough when you’re dealing with thousands of pounds of water. A ZipLevel precision altimeter measures ground height differences to within fractions of an inch, across your entire pool area.

This means you can:

  • Quickly identify high and low spots before you start.

  • Make accurate cuts or fills so your pool base is truly flat.

  • Protect your investment—your pool will last longer and perform better.

3. Why Level Ground is Critical for your Pool:

Even a small slope of just 1–2 inches can create big problems:

  • Structural stress: Water naturally finds its own level. If your pool sits on uneven ground, the water will push harder on the lower side of the wall, which can cause bowing, leaning, or even collapse.

  • Liner damage: An unlevel base creates uneven pressure points that stretch or tear the vinyl liner.

  • Shorter pool life: Uneven setups strain every part of your pool, cutting its lifespan dramatically.

4. Installer vs. DIY:

If you hire a suggested installer, they will have one. If not, you can rent one.

ALARM REQUIREMENTS

All doors or windows that allow access to a swimming pool should be equipped with an audible alarm that sounds when the door, window, or screen is opened. Alarms should meet the requirements of UL 2017, which specifies that the alarm must activate within 7 seconds of a door opening, sound distinctly at 85 dB or more for at least 30 seconds, and reset temporarily via a switch at least 54 inches high to prevent child access. Pet doors leading to pools should never be installed, as they pose significant drowning risks for children.

SAFETY COVERS

There are safety covers that are designed specifically to hold heavy weight and prevent access to the pool. Through our partnership with Cover Care, we are excited to offer automatic safety covers as an option for you. Installing an automatic safety cover meets the pool barrier code requirements and eliminates the need for a fence, gate, or alarms.
